We have a large number of fleet vehicles that require regular service/MOT to maintain their warranty and keep them road worthy. We have been using Sandy Lane Service Station for Approximately ten years for all our vehicle requirements. We chose Sandy lane for several reasons, one of our senior members of staff here is good friends with Tony, the garage is situated local to our company, they are very competitive on price, and most of all they have always provided us with a fantastic service.
Prior to Sandy Lane we used to take our vehicle to the main dealers, this made thing quite complicated because the vehicles we had were not all the same make and model, which meant taking them different places all over the Manchester area which was very inconvenient. They were also a lot more expensive and a lot less accommodating.
All the staff at Sandy lane are pleasant helpful, friendly and accommodating, the service we have received over the years has been fantastic. If I had to change anything it wouldn’t be with the service, staff or communication, it would only be, from a selfish point of view to save time, to extend the size of the garage to accommodate more of our vehicle at the sometime. Who knows some time in the foreseeable future Tony may have plans to do this.
We have recommended Sandy Lane to friends and relatives who also use them and are equally satisfied. We will continue to use sandy Lane for the foreseeable future and continue to give them a glowing recommendation to all we know.
I know this may sound a bit cliché, but I just can’t think of a big enough gesture to show my appreciation enough for what Tony , Michelle and the rest of the team at Sandy Lane have done for me and my family. It really does put a new emphasis on the saying “going that extra mile”.
I have a 02 plate Peugeot which had a rather bizarre problem, it had a sight misfire and ran a bit lumpy, but that main issue was the fact you would be driving along one minute and the car would just randomly cut out for no apparent reason. This made the vehicle extremely unsafe to drive as you can imagine.
I took my vehicle into three garages, before taking it to Sandy Lane, none of which were able to repair the fault my vehicle had, but still applied a charge for their efforts. One of the garages was a Peugeot main dealer who refused to even get involved in the job.
Sandy Lane was recommended to me by a friend at my Gym, I took it in and straight away they provided me with a courtesy car for the day, free of charge which I thought was great. They reassured me they would try their best to get to the bottom of the problem, which filled me with confidence from the start.
They contacted me by the end of the day to say they were not one hundred percent sure they had rectified the fault but they had tried a few things and could no longer get the vehicle to stall. They suggested I take the vehicle away, to test it for myself, and return it if the fault re-occurs. This sounded reasonable because the fault was intermittent and didn’t happen all the time.
Tragedy then struck me and my family, my husband was then taken in to hospital seriously ill and admitted. On my way to visit him, the car started to fail again. I contacted the office and spoke to Michelle, I was very upset and emotional as this was the last thing I needed. Michelle was fantastic, she told me not to worry, that her and Tony would come to the hospital and swap cars, they would collect mine and leave me with one of their courtesy cars.
I ended up using their car for three weeks whilst they worked on my vehicle, without their extremely kind gesture and patience whilst trying to resolve the fault on my vehicle I don’t think I would have been able to get through those three difficult weeks.
My husband is now home well on the way to recovery and my vehicle is running better than ever. I have and will continue to recommend Sandy Lane to everybody I know, because without a shadow of doubt, they are the best garage I have ever come across.
We would just like to say a big THANKS to Sandy Lane and all the staff for their ongoing service and support throughout the past Seven Years. I used to do all my own service and repair work in house at Wellington Garage when I had the Hyundai franchise, but approximately seven years ago moved premise to pear mill in Bredbury, and based my business purely on car sales.
Sandy Lane Came highly recommended to me by Mike Thistleton, who was the Sales director at Wellington Garage. I arranged to meet with Tony the managing director of Sandy Lane to discuss prices and future business. Tony was very helpful and that staff there were all very friendly, welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome.
I know often I am not always the ideal customer I can be very demanding and request things at short notice, this is a reflection of the business I am in customer’s demand an extremely fast turnaround when purchasing a new vehicle, and they also expect the vehicle to be in tip top condition mechanically.
I can honestly say that without the help and ongoing support of Tony and the Team at Sandy lame, by business would not have thrived as much as it has in the last seven years.
So again Thanks for everything, may we continue to work alongside each other for many years to come.
I have been using Sandy Lane Service Station since 1986, I have known Tony the Managing director for over 26 years and trust him and his staff with all my family’s servicing and repairs.
I feel much more at ease taking my vehicle into Sandy Lane as opposed to a main dealer. I feel I get a better quality service and benefit from a more personal approach from the staff there, they are very polite and friendly and I know each and every one by name.
I have never experienced any problems with the services offered at Sandy Lane, but I know if I did have any problems relating to my vehicle service/repair I could approach any member of the team and the situation would be resolved in an instant.

I rang Sandy Lane Garage and spoke to Tony Bowden, I asked him for his assistance, as I had broken my car!! He asked me, quite correctly what I meant.
I explained that I had managed to snap both the handles on my car seats and was worried I wouldn’t be able to take any passengers anywhere, as it’s a two door vehicle.
My Car was well overdue for a service and the MOT was due within the next few weeks, I asked whether I could book the car in with him so he could have a look and advise me accordingly. The only problem was I didn’t know where Sandy Lane Service station was.
Tony advised me that this wouldn’t be a problem that he would come out to my Place of work and leave me a courtesy car to use whilst mine was in for repair and deliver mine back when the work was complete.
True to his word a representative from Sandy Lane Garage arrived at my place of work with my ‘swap’ car. The loan car was immaculate and after handing over my beloved car I waited for the phone call.
Tony telephoned later that day, and explained what had happened with the car seats and gave me a thorough breakdown of the casts involved for the repair, service and MOT. I didn’t feel pressured in any way to make a decision and give the go ahead.
I did however ask him to proceed, as I thought that the prices were very reasonable. I was then advised my car would be worked on the following day and that somebody from the garage would be in touch.
Again, true to his word Tony rang me the following morning to advise me my car was ready and would be returned to me at 1pm. My Car was returned at 1pm and to my great delight, not only was the seats repaired the service and MOT complete, but they had also taken the time to valet it inside and out at no extra cost!
The service I received from Sandy Lane was excellent in value for money, courtesy, reliability and promptness. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone and everyone!
